Characters wanted!...a campaign from LAG FW _ Landesarbeitsgemeinschaft der Freien Wohlfahrtspflege in Lower Saxony. Dir Sir or Madam, With the campaign ?Characters wanted - Typen gesucht!? the LAG FW in Lower Saxony is trying to tackel one of the future challenges : the shortage of new helpers In many field of work in our organization such as elderly care, early childhood education, education care of challenged people, we are already facing difficulties to find educated support. Hence ?Typen gesucht? is our way to improve the image of jobs in social work, we are trying to show the diversity and the career prospects in the field of social work. We ask politics and society to give credit to professionals in social works for their contribution to common welfare. We will point out potential and career opportunities of each professional field and describe the meaningful jobs in social services of Lower Saxony. On this webpage you will not only find information about the professions but also information about events that take place all over Lower Saxony to give interested people a chance for hands-on experience. Highlight of this campaign will be an event (practical training) week from 6th to 12th of September 2010. Many institutions all over Lower Saxony will offer the opportunity to gain practical insight into the field to everybody who is interested. You will find information about the offer on this webpage, please note that it will continually be updated. I wish for all of us to succeed with this campaign in attracting young people to jobs in social work.
